Matt has extensive physio experience - from high pressure NHS roles to the world of international sport in Formula Racing and Olympic Gymnastics. He is passionate about applying the principles of elite sport to the full spectrum of physiotherapy goals.
Having obtained a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at the University of East Anglia, Matt began his career in a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapy role, treating NHS patients in Suffolk, and went on to gain experience in a range of hospital and community settings.
Developing a wealth of clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions as well as a broad spectrum of injuries - from common lower back pain to pre/post operatively orthopaedic injuries - he also trained in sports massage, shockwave therapy and kinesis-taping.
Applying clinical expertise with a passion for sport, Matt has also secured roles treating elite sports professionals. Currently, he is working in Formula 2 as Performance Coach to a Red Bull Junior Driver, which involves international travel and the application of specialist knowledge to a high-pressure environment. Matt also manages some of Team GB’s gymnastics team and has previously worked with Norwich City Football Club and the Oxford Boating Team. Working in high performance sport has allowed Matt to develop and refine a range of skills - including manual therapy, strength and conditioning, and performance coaching which he applies at Elite Physical Medicine supporting patients with their return to higher levels of function and rehabilitation goals.
